WatchKit SDK has been seeded to developers. Finally, developers can start working on applications and software for Apple's upcoming watch which is coming early next year for a starting price of $349.
"Apple Watch is our most personal device ever, and WatchKit provides the incredible iOS developer community with the tools they need to create exciting new experiences right on your wrist," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "With the iOS 8.2 beta SDK, developers can now start using WatchKit to create breakthrough new apps, Glances and actionable notifications designed for the innovative Apple Watch interface and work with new technologies such as Force Touch, Digital Crown and Taptic Engine."
Along with this, Apple also seeded iOS 8.2 beta 1 and Xcode 6.2 beta both of which are now available for developers today and can be downloaded from the dev center.
With WatchKit SDK developers can start working on Glances and actionable notifications, however developers will need to wait until next year to start creating native and exclusive apps for Apple watch.
Glances and actionable notifications essentially means notifications that allow users to take an action or respond directly from their wrists with Apple Watch. Apple Watch will be available early next year for $349 and comes in variety of different colors/size/editions.
