iPad Pro pushed back to Q2 2015 due to Manufacturing Difficulties.

The much anticipated and some what mysterious tablet, iPad Pro, to be released in 2nd quarter of 2015 according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He believes that iPad Pro will use an oxide panel to achieve "high resolution, quick response, and high color saturation". He says that the time needed to produce such displays and improve the assembly line will most likely push iPad Pro back to 2Q 2015.

iPad Pro is rumored to have 12.2" to 12.9" display with ultra high definition display. It is rumored to
come with A8X processor. The tablet of such a size is comparable to a 13" laptop or Macbook Air!

Ming Chi Kuo also talks about the current iPad lineup and says that due to lack of applications and market saturation, he sees Apple only selling 9.8 million units in the first quarter of 2015. I think he is perfectly right. With iPhone 6 Plus and other large screen smartphones, people are getting less attracted to tablets and for them 5.5+ inches screen size is big enough for emails, browsing, games, social networking, office work etc - and it is!

When Apple unveiled iPad mini back in 2012, it started selling more than the large size iPad due to its smaller screen size because customers had two extreme options till then. A 4" iPhone 5 or 9.7" iPad. A device in the middle was appreciated by the customers, but now with 5.5" iPhone 6 plus people are opting to go with the larger size smartphone rather than a tablet.

It's a bit hard going for iPad lineup and tablets in general and the prediction that Ming Chi Kuo makes are fully agreeable. What can Apple do next? 12.2" iPad needs something out of the box from Apple to make it successful. What if Apple is trying to make a hybrid OS. A mix between iOS and OS X for iPad Pro lineup.
